It is adjacent to the Sawgrass Mills Mall.  Sawgrass Mills is a world famous 2.4 million square foot mall owned by Simon Property Group.  It is the sixth largest mall in the United States, and the second largest in Florida.  Located so close to Miami, it draws much of its customer base from international travelers, many coming just to shop there.

This hotel site is also located just across the street from the BankAtlantic Center.  This indoor arena is home to the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League and has numerous events and concerts throughout the year.
